About the region
Located in the South-East of France, at the heart of the Mediterranean arch, between the Italian border and the Rhône River, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur (PACA) is renowned for its flavours, perfumes, colours and lights. Although the region is the third most populated in France with 4.7 million inhabitants, 90% of the population are gathered in three cities, Marseille, Nice and Toulon.

Sun, sand, sea and seriously rich
The region benefits from a Mediterranean climate with almost 300 days of sunshine a year and mild temperatures for most of the year. Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur is the French most favoured region for holidays renowned for its sandy beaches, pleasant bays, mountains, cliffs, vineyards and charming villages. Indeed, it offers both natural landscapes for those who love nature and exclusive resorts for those who prefer luxury life.
The region is also famous for its wines and refined local cookery based on garlic and olive oil. The region has attracted many artists who have been inspired by the alluring Provence's landscape notably Van Gogh, Picasso and Auguste Renoir. The rich and famous from all over the world moor their big yachts here during summer.
