About the region
Burgundy is located in the centre of Western France contains 1,623,000 inhabitants and is about 3 hours driving distance from Geneva, Lyons, Paris, and the Alps. Burgundy can also be reached by a 5 hours drive from the Channel Tunnel, flying to the nearby Dijon airport, or a five hour TGV trip from London. Burgundy enjoys a continental climate, which means it has cold dry winters and hot sunny summer.
Go with the flow
The region is famous for its premium wines which give a unique character to the surrounding area. Amongst the most expensive wines in the world they are the perfect accompagnement to the finest and traditional culinary delights of Burgundy such as “coq au vin” and “beef bourguignon”.
Getting there, and property prices
Burgundy also benefits from being ranked “Patrimoine Mondial” of UNESCO sites, and has a vast and varied heritage with a mix of the old Industrial era, and new futuristic creation. It has 1200 kilometres of riverbanks, which makes it the first water tourist region of France where you can sail, canoe or raft.
Despite easy access to the region, rich attractive heritage and cheap property prices, the region has yet to see many overseas buyers purchasing property.
