About the region
Located in the South West of France, separated from Spain by the Pyrenees, Aquitaine is the third largest region in France but has only 3 million inhabitants.

Beautiful scenery for relaxation, sport or both!
The region of Aquitaine is the perfect place to find your holiday home. Most of the year you will enjoy a mild climate, so take part in water sports and thalassos(health spas). There are 250 km of golden sandy beaches where you can surf, swim or just relax; naturally-formed lakes where you can sail, breathtaking mountains, and large forests such as Périgord Vert in Dordogne and Parc Naturel Régional of Landes which forms the largest forest in Europe.

Good food and great wine - perfect
The people are very friendly, and welcoming. You can taste an incredible variety of well-known regional delicacies such as the “poule au pot” (“chicken in a pot”) or the “magret de canard” (“duck fillet”). The whole of Aquitaine is also renowned for its vineyards especially in Bordeaux with its world famous red wines.

Getting there, and property prices
With all its beauty, this region has yet to experience significant rises in property prices compared to most of the other regions of France except for the Dordogne. Traditionally this is partly due to the difficulty in getting there but this is changing thanks to cheap fare airlines offering flights to the region.
